WordCamp Jinja will bring together developers, designers, writers, content creators, entrepreneurs, educators, students, community organisers, and open-source enthusiasts from Uganda and beyond.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

This year\u2019s theme, <\/span>\u201cEmbrace Creative Currents on the Nile,\u201d<\/b> celebrates the ideas, experiences, and people shaping the web from Jinja and across our wider community. We are looking for practical lessons, honest stories, fresh perspectives, and creative ideas that can help our attendees learn, grow, and build meaningful connections.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

You do not need to be a famous expert or an experienced conference speaker to apply. Whether this would be your first time on stage or you have spoken at many events before, your experience may be exactly what someone in our audience needs to hear.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

What can you speak about?<\/b><\/h2>\r\n

We welcome talks that are connected to WordPress, open source, creativity, technology, business, education, AI, and community.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

            These suggestions are not a limit. We would also love to receive an idea that does not fit neatly into one of these categories.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

            Session formats<\/b><\/h2>\r\n

            You may apply for one of the following formats:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

            Standard Talk<\/b><\/h3>\r\n

            A presentation of approximately <\/span>30 minutes<\/b>, followed by time for questions.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

            This format is suitable for sharing a case study, practical process, technical subject, professional lesson, or community experience.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

            Workshop<\/b><\/h3>\r\n

            A practical, hands-on session of approximately <\/span>60 to 90 minutes<\/b> in which attendees learn by following along or completing an activity.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

            Workshop proposals should clearly describe what attendees will do, what they will learn, and whether they need to bring a laptop or install anything beforehand.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

            Joint Talk<\/b><\/h3>\r\n

            Two speakers may apply to present a session together. Please submit one application and include the details of both speakers.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

            What makes a strong proposal?<\/b><\/h2>\r\n

            A strong proposal should:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

              \r\n
            • Have a clear and specific title<\/span><\/li>\r\n
            • Explain what the session will cover<\/span><\/li>\r\n
            • Identify the intended audience<\/span><\/li>\r\n
            • Describe what attendees will learn or be able to do afterwards<\/span><\/li>\r\n
            • Focus on practical knowledge rather than promoting a product or service<\/span><\/li>\r\n
            • Be based on real experience, research, or useful examples<\/span><\/li>\r\n
            • Be understandable to the audience it is intended to serve<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n
